A Note on the
Masculine & Feminine
and Sexual Polarity
You’ve likely come across the terms masculine and feminine in the worlds of intimacy, polarity, and conscious relating.
While these concepts can be powerful and illuminating, they’re often oversimplified — and at times, even weaponized. When misused, they can reinforce stereotypes or create pressure to conform. But when understood clearly, they offer a nuanced and meaningful language to explore love, attraction, and emotional safety.
Here’s a short dive into these principles to dispel some common misconceptions.
The Masculine and Feminine are energetic principles — not gender roles.
They exist in all people, in complex and varying ways, and are present in nearly every spiritual lineage since the beginning of human spirituality, starting with animist traditions.
